Private Duty NursingPrivate Duty Nursing (PDN) is based upon medically necessity for continuous, substantial and complex nursing care provided by a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) in the patient’s home.  In addition to providing care in the home, the nurse may accompany a patient outside of the home when the patient’s normal life activities (such as a child attending school during the day) take the patient away from the home during the day.  PDN is paid by most health plans State sponsored Medicaid programs.

Our Private Duty Nursing staff provides excellent continuous nursing care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with skilled one-on-one nursing care in the home by Registered Nurses (RNs) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs).

Usually prescribed on an hourly basis for tasks that require continuous nursing care, PDN is distinguished from Skilled Nursing Care as it is prescribed on a per visit basis.

The amount of hours that the patient qualifies for is determined by the physician along with health insurance companies terms and limitations. Family members may elect to work outside the home, or stay at home.
